The BMA is seeking qualified drivers to operate buses and heavy motor vehicles. The role requires individuals who can maintain high standards of safety, responsibility, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Maintenance and Reporting: You’ll need to ensure vehicles are in good condition by performing daily pre-and post-trip inspections, reporting incidents or accidents, and maintaining vehicle logs for fuel, mileage, and other operational aspects.
- Transport and Delivery: Safely transport staff, documents, and goods to various locations, ensuring all deliveries are made promptly.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, government regulations, and internal procedures. You will also manage the movement of sensitive documents securely.
- Customer Service: Assist guests with disabilities, provide a professional service to clients, and ensure a safe, hygienic, and secure environment.
- Work Schedule Flexibility: Flexibility in working hours is essential, including potential overtime as required by the role.
 Qualifications and Experience
- Educational Requirements: Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent (NQF 4).
- Driving Licence: Code EC (endorsed) driver’s license and a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) for categories P & G.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years driving experience with buses and/or heavy motor vehicles.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with the Border Management Authority Act, Road Safety Regulations, Public Service Regulations, and general government systems.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime.
- Strong attention to detail, especially regarding vehicle maintenance, safety regulations, and customer service.
